Valentine Card

The front of the card.

The two inside faces of the card and the back.
Decided to use the design elements from my box to make a Valentine card for a very special person! I used one of those three fold cards - I'm sure they have a technical name! - and decorated four of the faces of the card. I used a closed scallop embossed edging, rather than the open one I used on the box, to try to make it less 'girlie'. I failed on that of course because the whole colour scheme is feminine! Lots of stamping, inking, embossing, paper sculpting and I'm happy with it. Love the gold ribbon but need to get more!

  2. Thank you Avril! The valentine card is already in Afghanistan and my silly husband opened it despite me putting 'don't open until the 14th' all over it. He seemed very impressed with it which was good!

  4. Thanks for the lovely comments on my blog, and of course I don't mind! I am fairly new to journaling so still finding my fett a little, but I do enjoy it!

I love that Heart Die though, and I'm trying to build up my 'Alterations' stash! Love Tim Holtz's stuff! That heart is quite a versatile and I have found I've used it quite a lot on projects!

Don't know why I didn't see your post on WOYWW but I must say that card is gorgeous! Very Elegant indeed! Thanks for sharing,

    Take care and Happy Blogging!

  7. I die cut an edging and used the cut off part that normally gets thrown away. I embossed it with some aged gold embossing powder. Can't remember who's it is but I'll have a look later for you. I saw it at a demo once and thought it was a great idea - felt a bit stupid that I'd never thought of doing it!
